crochet stars project for fundraising Some projects are born from creativity.
Others are born from the heart.

This year, in preparation for Christmas, I was contacted by the non-profit organization UN SORRISO ALLA VOLTA APS, with whom I had collaborated in the past for the donation of my little solidarity octopuses.

Their special request: create crochet Christmas stars to sell and raise funds for special projects.

I said yes without hesitation.

Because this is more than a collaboration.
It is the continuation of a story.

A Tradition Born from Love

The idea of the star is not accidental.
It continues a tradition that started during the first Christmas without little Ludovica, who sadly passed away from acute myeloid leukemia.

That first Christmas was delicate, full of silence and memories. On that occasion, a simple but powerful gesture was born: hanging something yellow on the Christmas tree, the color chosen to remember Ludovica.

A symbol.
A way to say: “You are still here, in our hearts.”

The following year, that presence became more concrete.
We created many little pinecone gnomes, each with a yellow hat, small handmade items full of meaning, capable of turning pain into sharing.handmade for charity

This Year’s Christmas Stars

This year, the project continues with the crochet Christmas stars.

  • The star is light

  • The star is guidance

  • The star is hope

Each star is not just a decoration for the tree or a gift.
It is a tangible act of solidarity. The proceeds from sales will be donated, transforming yarn and time into real help.

When I work on these creations, I always think of this:
the hands weave the yarn, but it is the heart that gives shape and meaning.

Crochet as a Tool for Good

We often think of handmade crafts as something creative, relaxing, personal.
But crochet can also be a powerful tool for community.

A small handmade item can:

  • Raise funds

  • Bring people together

  • Keep memories alive

  • Turn pain into light

Every time someone chooses one of these stars, they are choosing to be part of something bigger.

How You Can Help

I invite you to follow and support the association, share their projects, and, if possible, participate by spreading the message.

Because when many small lights shine together, the darkness is less frightening.

And this year, more than ever, we want the light to keep shining.
